No Receipt? No Problem
Don't be stuck regretting a purchase without the ability to return it. While some stores are downright merciless when it comes to their return policies, others have a far more customer-centric, lenient approach. Here are the 5 stores with the best return policies so you never again find yourself facepalming over a randomly-bought hat you know you're never going to wear.
1. Target
You don't have to feel rushed returning an item to Target. The company allows you 90 days to return unopened items, and for RedCard holders, you get an extra 30. For the store's own brands, the policy is even more generous, giving you up to a year, as long as you have the receipt.
2. Nordstrom
Nordstrom has long been associated with having a limitless return policy, even accepting damaged or worn items. While the company has since reeled it in slightly due to customer overuse, the store's policy is still exceedingly generous, dealing with returns on a case-by-case basis as opposed to having written rules.
3. L.L. Bean
Like Nordstrom, L.L. Bean's return policy used to be limitless but has since put in place some limitations. Customers now must return items within one year of purchase, which is still incredibly generous.
4. Costco
Because Costco's membership program offsets any losses from returns, its policy is extremely lenient. They'll accept items back years after you buy them, and you don't even have to keep your receipt because your purchase history is automatically on file.

5. Kohl's
Kohl's is known for its extremely customer-centric return policy. There's no time limit to return items, and you don't even need to keep your receipt because employees can use your credit card number to look up purchases.
